So it has been quite a long time since I last wrote mostly because I have been sooo busy working on my motor development skills. Becoming a person is pretty much a full time job. Anyways, as you all can imagine a lot has happened in the past two months. I am making all sorts of new noises-everything from screams to coos to more screams, but I am still working on mastering what my mom calls English. I don't know what's so great about English-I mean I manage to communicate pretty effectively with the noises I've got at my disposal. Plus when I cry people respond pretty quickly. I think if I learned English and had to use words to describe how I was feeling things would just take a lot longer. Also, unlike my daddy, I am able to make people other than my Aunt Rach laugh. If I scream a few times, then more often than not whoever is in the room laughs. What can I say-I'm a one baby show. I'm also starting to roll over more often. I rolled over for the first time a few months ago, but I'm getting a lot more enthusiastic about the process these days. My mommy has been ensuring I get plenty of tummy time, since that is supposed to help develop the muscles I need to roll over. After every diaper change she or daddy read me a story on my tummy. My favorite is a book called "Ribbit, Ribbit." It is about these five little speckled frogs that sit on a speckled log eating some most delicious bugs. No matter what's going on around me I always give my full attention when that book is being read. Over the past week I've been really working on rolling over, but mostly just getting stuck on my side. My mommy told me I had a doctor appointment coming up and that my doctor was going to ask her if I was rolling over yet, so I knew the pressure was on! I decided to make mommy sweat though and waited until the last possible moment to roll over-12:40 pm on the Monday of our appointment...our 1:00 appointment! I like to live on the edge!
In other news, I've had the misfortune of being sick the past few days. Mommy was sick first and then I got it too. It's put quite the damper on our social life. We missed church on Sunday. Then we had to cancel dinner with mommy and daddy's friends Miss Jessie and Mr Tim. And today we had to cancel a play date and stay home from our Tuesday night church gathering. But it will all be worth it when we're all feeling better.
Well I'm in bed for the night, so I'll write more later.
xoxo,
Caleigh
